Veterans Society Scholarship Endowment Update. It's with great pleasure for me to inform you that our society just hit the $15K mark for the $25K requirement. We are only $10K away until the endowment kicks out scholarships to our GMU Veterans. 

Many thanks to all of you who have helped thus far in our efforts to fund raise for this cause!

The American Legion will host its Veterans On Campus event, “Bridging the Gap,” at the Renaissance Washington D.C. Hotel on March 20 from 1 to 6 p.m., the day before the Legion’s annual Washington Conference begins.

The Veterans Society of GMU held it's 1st Annual Monte Carlo Night on Saturday Feb 12th 2011 at the American Legion Post 177 in Fairfax, VA. This Veterans Scholarship Endowment Fundraiser was a success due to the hard work of the society's financial committee. A big Thanks goes out to Susan Grossman and Joshua Lawton for leading this fundraiser. The event brought over 50 guests together, who enjoyed h'ordeuvres, desserts, and drinks all while networking and playing casino style games. Thank you to those who attended and donated money to the endowment.

Our 2nd Annual Gala was a huge success. Not only did we raise $1,000 for the Veterans Scholarship Endowment, but we were also joined by the President of the Veterans Society of William and Mary, among many other leaders of the veteran community of Northern Virginia.

Our 3rd Annual Race for Veterans was a huge success. We raised over $3,000 for the Veterans Scholarship Endowment.

The Veterans Society of GMU would like to thank Outward Bound and the Sierra Club for providing a 6 Day Sea Kayaking Trip for nine of our members. It was an experience that none of them will forget.
