History
The Veterans Society of George Mason University was created in the Fall of 2006 under the leadership of a small group of highly motivated veterans. The Veterans Society was created for veterans, by veterans, to reach out to other veterans and the community as a whole.

The Veterans Society wants to reach out to these veterans. We want to let them know that we are here. The phrase “I got your back” did not cease to have meaning when we stopped wearing our uniform. Whether enlisted or officer, airman, sailor, soldier, or marine, we all wore the flag of the United States of America.

The Veterans Society wants to help you, the veteran. We want you to be a success at George Mason University and beyond. We are the only voice on campus that advocates solely for student veterans. We are here for you.
What has the Veterans Society done?

Multiple social functions: Beach Trips, BBQs, white water kayaking, paint balling, and happy hours.

We left roses at the doors of the wounded warriors at Walter Reed for Valentines Day.

We have raised thousands of dollars for a scholarship to help the children of deceased veterans and for the Veterans Scholarship Endowment at GMU.
